TM Dance World was founded in 2012.
In 2018, a purpose-built studio was created on North Terrace, in Darfield. In recent years, we've expanded to offer further dance classes in Oxford, and offer art classes at the Darfield studio.
TM Dance World was founded by Tara McKeown (Marshall) in 2012 and originally ran out of the Kimberley Hall in Darfield. In 2017 Tara purchased an old "shed" at 7 North Terrace Darfield that was then renovated into a purpose-built three-studio dance and art center, which opened in 2018.
TMDW utilises two of the dance studios, the student waiting/changing area, a parent viewing room and a small dance shop. The studio at the north end of the building is home to our art school Creative Sparks, while the south end of the building is where our ballet teacher Saba Polderman - Charles, tutors ballet alongside our TMDW curriculum. We believe ballet technique is a valuable fundamental of dance and working together with Saba's Malvern Ballet School provides great benefit to our dancers training.
In 2020 the studio expanded its dance classes to nearby Oxford, where we run Jazz, and Acro classes from the beautiful Oxford Town Hall.
Tara and her talented and passionate team are qualified and registered teachers with the Asia Pacific Dance Association (APDA), Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), Alexia Flexibility and Acrobatic Arts. The team continue to train and up skill each year attending teacher workshops held in Auckland or Australia.
